Dr. Uladzislau Ivanou featured among Eastern Partnership writers against hate speech

Dr. Uladzislau Ivanou of the European Humanities University (EHU) Department of Social Sciences joins the project “Writers of the Eastern Partnership against hate speech”, supported by the German Marshall Fund of the United States and the PEN Center of Georgia.

The project aims at bringing writers from the Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine) together and raise awareness of hate speech campaigns in all 6 countries to discuss how they are similar or different, and what to do about them. The project aims to answer the question how can a writer and literature in general help to emerge from the marginalization of certain vulnerable groups in society?

In his opinion piece “Freedom of Hate” Dr. Ivanou shares an insight on the importance of maintaining a respectful democratic dialogue both within the government and pro-democracy opposition.
