The European Humanities University (Vilnius) shares democratic values and categorically opposes the forcible military invasion of the Russian Federation into the sovereign State of Ukraine.

In connection with the hostilities that have been ongoing on the territory of Ukraine for the 5th day, Ukrainian youth  have lost the opportunity to access education for an indefinite period.

Being a University in exile for 18 years that  has repeatedly hosted Belarusian students and scholars who suffered from the authoritarian regime after several waves of repressions in Belarus, the European Humanities University in Vilnius is ready to accept and provide support to students and scholars who suffered from the Russian initiated  war in Ukraine.

We offer the following forms of support:

  • Use of EHU platforms to continue the educational process of Ukrainian universities in online and offline formats;
  • Temporary relocation of students for the period of hostilities to Lithuania;
  • Assistance to scholars and faculties-at-risk;
  • Assistance with adaptation, paperwork in Lithuania;
  • Psychological support.

As of today, 12 students from Ukraine are studying at EHU, EHU has partnerships with 5 Ukrainian universities, and several Ukrainians are lecturing at EHU.

The EHU leadership is negotiating with international foundations to receive additional funding for students and researchers from Ukraine, and also calls on business representatives, partners, University donors to provide additional support for students and scholars affected by the military aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
