Confirm your English proficiency

Applicants to Bachelor’s programs must confirm their English proficiency at A2 level or higher. This can be done in one of the following ways:

  • Provide results of a national exam upon completion of secondary education (CE/CT, ZNO/NMT, EGE, UNT, etc.).
  • Provide an international certificate such as TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge English, etc.
  • Provide a diploma or academic transcript issued by a linguistic university, translation faculty, or linguistic college.
  • Take the internal exam – the Advanced Speech Test (URT).

📌 If an applicant does not have confirming documents and their level is below the required standard, they must improve their English skills to A2 level before the start of the third semester. For this purpose, the University offers a special English language course (12 ECTS credits). This rule does not apply to applicants of the “Global Politics and Economy” and “Business Economics” programs – for them, English proficiency confirmation is a mandatory admission requirement.

📝 What is the Advanced Speech Test (AST)?

The URT is an internal exam designed to assess applicants’ English proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

📌 Applicants can take the URT twice:

  • During Open Days
  • During the main exam sessions

How does the exam work?

The test consists of two parts: a written test and an oral interview with an examiner.

  • The exam is conducted online – detailed connection instructions will be provided in advance.

Exam duration: written test – 60 minutes, interview – 7–10 minutes.
