Prove your Knowledge of English

Applicants of undergraduate programs need to prove their English language skills at A2 level or higher. This can be done in one of the following ways:

  • Provide an Advanced Speech Test certificate (URT). The test can be taken during Open Days at EHU or online. Exam dates are available here.
  • Provide TOEFL/IELTS/Cambridge English certificates. Certificate points are counted at EHU according to a 10-point system based on the following scale.
  • Provide a diploma of higher education issued by a linguistic university or a translation department; an academic certificate issued by a linguistic university or a translation department; a diploma issued by a linguistic college, an academic certificate issued by a linguistic college, a certificate of the Unified State Examination and its analogues in English.
  • If the applicant does not have documents confirming the knowledge of English at a level not lower than A2, when concluding an agreement, the applicant undertakes to additionally study English at a level not lower than A2 before the start of the 3rd semester of studies. The university in this case offers a program in English (12 ECTS credits).
