Webinar “The status of crypto currencies in bankruptcy proceedings”

On June 16, European Humanities University invites everyone interested to the webinar “The status of crypto currencies in bankruptcy proceedings”.

Bitcoin, as the most common type of cryptocurrency which relies on blockchain technology, has been in use since 2009. However, questions regarding its status (or that of other cryptocurrencies) during bankruptcy proceedings are relatively novel.

This talk aims to explain the difficulties that arise when a debtor owns cryptocurrency. More concretely, the talk will address the issue of whether cryptocurrency constitutes part of the bankruptcy estate, and if yes, what rules apply to it in such cases.

Speaker: Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Social Sciences Neada Mullalli.

NB! The webinar will be held on June 16 at 3 PM. To participate, please register via the link.
