EHU will co-host Kalinowski Forum in Vilnius

On August 23-24, Kalinowski Forum will bring together in Vilnius the world’s leading experts and leaders to share their perspectives on Belarus. The Forum serves as the continuation of the Annual President Valdas Adamkus Conference.

Forum is expected to become a leading platform for all those, fighting for freedom in Belarus, where joint resilience-building strategies against Russian’s aggression in the region and fostering democracy in Belarus. The goal of the Forum is to establish a trusted and united policy of the West vis-a-vis Belarus aimed at clearly-defined re-integration of Belarus to the Trans-Atlantic community.

Kalinowski Forum is organized by the Seimas (Parliament) of Lithuania in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Institute of International Affairs and Political Sciences of Vilnius University, Eastern Europe Studies Center, Lithuania-Germany Forum, International Republican Institute, National Democratic Institute, Freedom House, Swedish International Liberal Center, National Endowment for Democracy, Vilnius University, and EHU.

  • On August 23 at 7 PM, a closed session of the Forum will take place
  • On August 24 from 8 AM to 5.15 PM, Forum’s panel discussions will take place at Aula Parva of Vilnius University (located at 3 Universiteto Str.)
  • On August 24 at 6 PM, students and faculty members of EHU are invited to join Forum’s reception, taking place at University Campus in Vilnius Old Town (located at 17 Savičiaus Str.). Keynote speaker of the reception University President Prof. Anatoli Mikhailov will be accompanied by Ambassador Dr. Žygimantas Pavilionis, Member of Seimas of Lithuania and University Governing Board Chair Andrius Kubilius, Member of the European Parliament.
