Fall Academy 2015: 25 Years of Reunification. The German Transition in the Eyes of Belarusians

Six EHU students studying public policy, international law, cultural heritage, and other study programs will take part in the Fall Academy 2015, an annual academic event organized by EHU Förderinitiative e. V. on September 6-10, 2015.

The Fall Academy 2015 will take place in the German capital Berlin and will be dedicated to the history of the German reunification and the socio-political transition that succeeded the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The aim of the Fall Academy 2015 is to enable young Belarusians to broaden their understanding of the mechanisms and processes of political and social transition to a democratic political government based on individual liberties, the rule of law, and an active civil society.

The intensive program will be delivered by workshops offered by experts from Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation, guided tours in museums, as well as political institutions and talks with federal statesmen.

The experience gained through analysis of the German case of transition is expected to help students to develop well-grounded opinions on the political and economic situation in Belarus and other countries of the Eastern Partnership. In order to encourage the participants to work with visual media for conveying their ideas and views, the students will receive intensive visual media training and be part of video recordings that will cover their impressions, statements, and visions.

Fall Academy 2015 has been organized in cooperation with the Ring of Christian Democratic Students, Berlin’s Humboldt University, and supported by Konrad Adenauer Foundation and European Humanities University.

The visual media training is being offered by the EHU E-Media Hub.
