EHU Urban Studies Circle will share experience of urban activists and researchers

 

European Humanities University’s (EHU) Laboratory of Critical Urbanism announces the next Urban Studies Circle meeting.

The participants of the event will have a unique opportunity to learn about the experiences of critical urbanists from Ukraine, Belarus, Poland and Germany. CANactions School for Urban Studies (Kyiv, Ukraine) Education Program Director Vladyslav Tyminskyi and Education Program Coordinator Bogdan Kapatsila will speak on action through education and professional training for Ukrainian change-makers.

An architect, participatory architecture practitioner and a member of the Minsk Urban Platformmember Nadzeya Tsaranok together with the co-founder of the Minsk Urban Platform and EHU Alumnus Andrei Karpeka (Class 2013) will give a talk “Participatory Architecture in Practice: the Case of Minsk”.

Finally, EHU Laboratory of Critical Urbanism researchers Benjamin Cope and Miodrag Kuč will discuss the ways of programming knowledge landscape in a former mono-functional town of Visaginas (Lithuania).

The discussion will be moderated by Assoc. Prof. Siarhei Liubimau.

NB! The Urban Studies Circle meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 7, at 5 pm. in EHU Campus room 213.
