On June 28-30, 2022, the European Humanities University in Vilnius will host the international conference “Thinking in Crisis”.

The last 20th century was marked by an acute awareness of exhaustion and crisis state of the richest in its content tradition of European thinking. However, this process, the first contours of which were clearly identified by the beginning of the 20th century, as we know, never managed to prevent social catastrophes that occurred on European continent.

Unfortunately, we have to admit that over two decades after beginning of the 21st century, we are still trying to apply the schemes of thought in relation to the changed realities of the modern world, the basic principles of which were subjected to radical rethinking by prominent representatives of philosophy, literature and art of the last century.

Particular attention of the conference participants will be drawn to those challenges the liberal education is facing up with in our anxious times.

Presentations will be made by: Friedrich-Wilhelm von Herrmann (Germany), Frédéric Worms, Chantal Delsol, Camille Riquier (France), Francesco Alfieri, Eugenio Agostino Parati and Marta Vassallo (Italy), Roger Berkowitz (USA). EHU will be represented at the conference by Povilas Aleksandravičius and Anatoli Mikhailov.

The language of the conference is English.
