Events

The main purpose of the Seed-Fund is to promote original, innovative, socially relevant research at the EHU and to increase competitive potential of the faculty of the EHU in the research project competitions as well as to create preconditions for the core research activities, eventually becoming self-sustainable (due to grant support via external project competitions). Fund supported activities are as follows: 

1. Publication of high quality (international) publication – international books or their parts, international articles;
2. Preparation and demonstration of high-quality works of art – demonstrated in international prestigious context and context of widespread awareness;
3. Organization of scientific event, including events on the research problematic of Belarus;
4. Organization of partnership-building event;
5. Request for funding necessary for the implementation of research, which would lead to the preparation of associates R&D outputs (finances for the implementation of scientific research);
6. Request of co-funding support for the participation and / or implementation of on-going project activities and initiatives;
7. Request for funding of projects initiated and implemented by the research centres or academic departments of the University, prioritizing proposals oriented to the thematic of Belarus;
8. Request for support for the development of innovative ideas, which would boost the R&D potential and capabilities of the University and or concrete department;
9. Requests for the development of third mission activities, directly associated with the need of civic society of Belarus, including preparation of research-based policy papers (starting up research-based cooperation with political organizations, think tanks, NGOs, etc.);
10. Other requests, implementation of which would bring added value and would help to develop institutional R&D potential according to the EHU Action Plan 2021-2026.

In addition, in order to promote scholars of the EHU to publish international publications, targeted bonus mechanism is integrated into the Seed-Fund. Researchers of the University, who would publish and present high quality international article within the strategic research fields of the University are to receive from the Seed-Fund fixated one-time bonus to their salary (Bonuses can be achieved for the publications, published within the period of academic year 2022-2023).

Terms and conditions for the general call of academic year 2022-2023:

• Total amount of Seed-Fund for A.Y. 2022-2023 – 12 000 Eur. (total finances of application should not exceed total amount of the fund);
• Applications are accepted until 8th of February;
• Deadlines of the implementation of the projects – no later than 10th of September 2023.
