In October 2014, Prof. Dr. G. David Pollick started his work at EHU as an Acting Rector. Prof. Pollick was appointed EHU Rector on April 3, 2015.
Prof. Pollick earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of San Diego and went on to receive a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Ottawa, a Pontifical Licentiate in Philosophy (Ph.L.) from St. Paul’s University in Ottawa, and a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Ottawa in the fields of Phenomenology, Hermeneutics, Aesthetics and Art History.
Before coming to EHU, Prof. Pollick was president and Professor of Philosophy for four American institutions of higher learning: the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Lebanon Valley College, Birmingham-Southern College, and the State University of New York College at Cortland, where he was also Provost and Vice-President for Academic Affairs. He was Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Seattle University in Washington and was the Director of the International College and chaired the Department of Philosophy at St. John’s University.
