EHU Admissions Campaign 2018: Continuous Increase of Freshmen’s Academic Preparation Level

The European Humanities University (EHU) in Vilnius reports about the successful ending of the Admissions Campaign 2018 on undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

A grand total of 298 applications were received within the course of the Admissions Campaign, including Additional Admissions. After the admission exams and interviews with prospective students 260 prospective students were recommended for enrollment by the Admissions Committee.

Despite 12 years of forced EHU operations in Vilnius, the University remains committed and connected to Belarus – 97% of the prospective students are citizens of Belarus. There are also citizens of Lithuania, Russia, Kazakhstan and Sweden among the recommended freshmen.

А quarter of first year students will begin their undergraduate and graduate studies tuition-free, thanks to the last year’s decision of the General Assembly of Part-Owners of EHU to introduce tuition-free studies on low-residence undergraduate degree programs.

For years EHU prospective students continue to demonstrate a high level of academic preparation. In 2018 the average ranking GPA of high residence undergraduate prospective students reached 9.00 out of 10 (8.94 – in 2017). The highest ranking GPA among the freshmen was 10.89.

Each year EHU admits students for the Preparatory Year Program. From October to June, the students learn English for academic work, the basics of project activities, the introduction to the humanities, the preparation for the essay and composition exams. The average ranking GPA of the Preparatory Year graduates was 9.21 points, which indicates a high level of their preparation and motivation for learning at EHU. EHU invites high school seniors and graduates to apply for the Foundation Year Program in Vilnius and Minsk. Admissions deadline is September 7. More details available in Russian.

Until September 21, the European Humanities University (EHU) in cooperation with the Vytautas Magnus University and the Lithuanian Culture Research Institute opens admissions for the PhD program in the field of Philosophy. Applicants, holding Master’s degrees are invited to take part in admissions. The key criteria for admissions are publications, research project, Master’s diploma GPA and interview results. Application form is available online. List of research topics and supervisors is available online.

Academic Year 2018/19 at EHU will begin on October 1 in the new premises of EHU — in the former Augustinian monastery in the Vilnius Old Town.
