EHU faculty takes part in Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition as judges

Faculty members of the European Humanities University’s (EHU) Academic Department of Social Sciences Inessa Stolper and Maria Laktionkina took part in the 9th Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition as judges.

The competition was held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on July 17-21.

The EHU team led by Inessa Stolper took part in the competition in December 2015 and in 2017 the lecturers got the invitation to evaluate oral presentations of the participants from all over the world. The teams from North and South America, Africa, Europe and Asia were represented on the competition. During the competition the students are invited to solve a hypothetical problem which presupposes the violation of human rights. The competition consists of written and oral parts.

At the end of the competition all the participants took part in the conference “Current Human Rights Developments: Prevention, Implementation and Capacity Building”. The competition and the conference function as the platform for the discussion, exchange and cooperation among students, scientists and experts with different experience in human rights law.
