Public lecture of Prof. Kálmán Mizsei on challenges of reforms in former communist countries

On March 21, adjunct professor of the Central European University Prof. Kálmán Mizsei will deliver a public lecture “Reform Reversals in Former Communist Countries of Europe: the Rule-of-Law Challenge” at the European Humanities University (EHU) in Vilnius.

Prof. Kálmán Mizsei is a distinguished Hungarian economist, who served at several Hungarian and international organisations. From 1990 to 1992, Prof. Mizsei worked as an adviser to the Governor of the National Bank of Hungary, From 1992 to 1995, he served as vice president for economic programs at the EastWest Institute in New York. In 2001-2006, Prof. Mizsei held office as the assistant secretary general of the United Nations, from 2007 until 2011, he served as a special representative of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova. Today Prof. Mizsei holds a position of co-chairman of the Roma Policy Board at the Open Society Institute.
