The program aims to train a new generation of Belarusian lawyers, who are able to facilitate the integration of international commitments in the national legal system of Belarus, to serve as mediators in the dialogue of legal cultures, and to contribute to Belarus’ progress towards a democratic constitution and an open civil society. The program allows for complementary study of the humanities to develop basic skills in applying European standards in legal education, along with courses in general legal studies such as the history and theory of law, branches of national law, comparative legal studies, an introduction to international and European law, and case studies in international and European law, with particular attention to the law and jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights.
